Process of Meditation-1

Bunch of Roses-Happy Life
Why meditation? Often I face this question; reply is different. In ancient age, Indian saints, monks would keep them engaged in mediation only to achieve their worshiped God or Goddess. They would continue their meditation year after year until they would achieve their target.Thereafter, time has been changed, now God or Goddess seeing is almost impossible. One myth of the world is that nothing is easily available in this world. From the spiritual point of view, meditation is one kind of self-purification which would lead ancient saints and monks to rich very close to their worships.Sree Ramkrishna Paramhangsadev was the famous Bengali worshiper of Goddess Kali and World famous saint Swami Vivekananda was his direct disciple. One day, when Vivekananda was ordinary young young young, called by his nickname, Naren, asked one question to Paramhangsadev that he had seen Goddess Kali or not; Paramhangsadev replied him quickly that he had seen his worshiper Kali as he is seeing to Naren.

I suggest that regular mediation is necessary for all; it gives, two ways benefits, one is mind- control which may be called self-purification and second one is, regular meditation, it keeps our daily health fit and fine.

If you search for Google search engine, you will find huge different opinions and ways of meditation; but my style is something different. All of us have seen sitting-Buddha's statue; this is the world famous image of Lord Buddha. I prefer this kind of image is ideal examples of how to meditation.

In the case of meditation, sitting style is very essential. Most of the people of Asian countries are preferring to sit on the ground or floor instead of sitting on the chair in their normal life.It may be something difficult for western people to sit on the ground or on the floor as they are not habituated in their life.In such cases cushion or foam mat can be used. But foam-mat size will be bigger or sitting on carpet may be used.

All this options are optional; because meditation is the process of practice of controlling of human-mind . According to our Indian epic Mahabharata, Yudhistir, the elder son of king Pandava and also the eldest brother of Arjun, once had been asked by the God Dhramraj in disguise of a bird that what the fastest thing in this world is, then Yudhistir replied within a moment, human's mind is the fastest thing. So that, control of such speedy mind is not a matter of a joke, even such a very negligible matter can break the mind- concentration practice.

I personally prefer to sit on plain and clean floor for meditation practice at the primary stage. It may be uneasiness for western people at the early stage; but in practice, they will be habituated.

In my next blog of this episode, I will discuss some relevant matters which have also value in meditation.
